Jaipur, Feb 28 (NationPress) On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated a comprehensive HPV vaccination initiative targeting girls aged 14 years and older in Ajmer, representing a pivotal advancement in India's battle against cervical cancer.

During the launch event, numerous schoolgirls received their vaccinations in the presence of the Prime Minister, who took the opportunity to engage directly with them. This initiative is designed to eliminate cervical cancer among women in India.

By enhancing access to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, this program aims to safeguard millions of girls nationwide from the risk of developing life-threatening cancers in the future.

Upon landing at Kishangarh Airport, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Governor, and other key officials.

He then utilized an Army helicopter to travel from the airport to the Ghughra helipad before proceeding by road to the venue for a public assembly. The emphasis of the Prime Minister's visit was squarely on women's health.

This HPV vaccination initiative is framed as a nationwide movement aimed at eradicating cervical cancer, which stands as one of the predominant causes of cancer-related fatalities among women in India.

The campaign underscores the government's dedication to preventive healthcare and the establishment of long-term public health security.

During his visit to Rajasthan, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the groundwork for several vital infrastructure projects designed to improve connectivity and spur development within the state.

These projects include: the Jaipur–Bandikui Expressway, a four-lane Greenfield expressway anticipated to significantly streamline travel to Delhi; and the Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor (Package 7), featuring a six-lane access-controlled highway segment aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and expediting freight transport.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for a four-lane elevated road project in Jodhpur to alleviate traffic congestion in the city. Reinforcing the government’s commitment to “Water for Every Home” and promoting renewable energy growth, he will also lay the foundation stone for nine packages under the Nonera and Parwan-Akawad drinking water initiatives to bolster water supply infrastructure in Rajasthan.

In the energy sector, he will inaugurate a transmission system for power evacuation from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). Foundation stones will also be laid for new 220 KV and 400 KV grid substations to enhance electricity distribution and support the state's expanding renewable energy capabilities.

As part of a significant employment initiative, the Prime Minister will distribute appointment letters to over 21,800 newly selected candidates in various Rajasthan government departments as part of the Rojgar Utsav initiative.

This visit seamlessly integrates healthcare reform, infrastructure development, and job creation, representing a robust push towards comprehensive development in Rajasthan while simultaneously launching a decisive national campaign against cervical cancer.
