5,900 Lebanese Nationals Cross Back from Syria at Border Checkpoint

Damascus, Nov 28 (NationPress) A total of 5,900 Lebanese nationals have departed from Syria via the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing connecting Syria and Lebanon by noon on Thursday, as per a Syrian official.

Alaa Al-Sheikh, a member of the executive office in the Damascus Countryside Governorate, informed local Sham FM radio that this movement follows a ceasefire agreement established between Israel and Hezbollah, which led many Lebanese who had taken refuge in Syria during the recent conflicts to return to their homeland.

Recently, Syrian authorities have reopened the Jdeidet Yabous crossing after conducting repairs on damage inflicted by an Israeli airstrike that had temporarily hindered traffic along this crucial route, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

The ceasefire arrangement between Israel and Hezbollah has been in effect since early Wednesday.
