New Delhi, March 18 (NationPress) On Tuesday, India condemned Pakistan for spreading falsehoods regarding Kashmir, asserting that the nation which persistently endorses cross-border terrorism must vacate the Indian territory it occupies illegally and forcibly.

"We observe that Pakistan has once again issued statements regarding the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The global community is aware that the core issue is Pakistan's active facilitation and endorsement of cross-border terrorism. This remains the greatest obstacle to regional peace and security. Instead of disseminating untruths, Pakistan ought to withdraw from Indian territory under its unlawful and coercive occupation," stated Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The MEA spokesperson's comments came in response to inquiries from the media about statements made by the Pakistan Foreign Office on Monday, which characterized recent remarks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi concerning terrorism activities in Pakistan as misleading and one-sided.

In a comprehensive interview with Lex Fridman, a podcaster based in the U.S., PM Modi noted that Pakistan has evolved into the epicenter of terrorism, inflicting suffering not only on India but globally.

"Wherever terrorism occurs worldwide, the trace often leads back to Pakistan. Take the September 11 attacks, for instance. The principal mastermind behind them, Osama bin Laden, found refuge in Pakistan. The world has recognized that terrorism and its associated mentality are deeply entrenched in Pakistan. It is now regarded as a hub of terror, affecting not just India but the entire globe," PM Modi highlighted.

PM Modi urged Islamabad to forsake its path of self-sponsored terrorism for the greater good of its populace.

He expressed that the people of Pakistan deserve a future devoid of violence and fear, wishing for the country to learn from its past mistakes and choose a better course.

"We have consistently questioned what benefit could arise from this approach. We have implored them to abandon state-sponsored terrorism permanently. What do they anticipate gaining by surrendering their nation to chaotic forces..." he remarked.

Discussing his attempts to establish peace with Pakistan, PM Modi recounted India's earnest efforts to promote peace and recalled his visit to Lahore and his invitation to the Pakistani leader for his swearing-in ceremony, even though these noble efforts were met with hostility.

"Upon assuming office, I specifically invited Pakistan to my swearing-in ceremony with the hope of turning a new page. Yet, every sincere attempt to foster peace was met with hostility and betrayal. We genuinely hope that wisdom prevails and they opt for the path of peace," he stated.
