Quetta, March 10 (NationPress) – In a recent incident, two individuals reportedly associated with Pakistan's intelligence services lost their lives, while another was apprehended by a Baloch armed faction that established a checkpoint on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan, according to local news sources on Tuesday.

The Balochistan Post reported that during an operation on Monday in Karkh tehsil, Baloch fighters obstructed the highway and conducted inspections on vehicles passing through.

As the two men connected to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) attempted to escape, they were shot dead, while one other person was taken into custody. Following this, Pakistani forces reportedly moved toward the scene, leading to intense clashes.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for this operation.

This event occurred shortly after the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) entered Karkh town on March 4, where they vandalized police stations and government property.

In another development, an explosive attack targeted a convoy vehicle of Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) in the Tejaban area of Kech district, as reported by The Balochistan Post, citing official statements.

The blast resulted in damage to the vehicle and injuries to two personnel, who were subsequently transported to a nearby medical facility.

Additionally, armed assailants in Kech reportedly attacked two Pakistani military checkpoints in the Aapsi Kahn and Shepchar areas, seizing weapons and equipment before igniting fires at the checkpoints.

The Baloch armed factions are escalating their operations in Balochistan, with the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claiming responsibility for two assaults targeting Pakistani forces in Quetta and Naseerabad on March 8 and 9.

BRG spokesperson, Dostain Baloch, stated that they had launched a hand grenade attack against a police patrol in Quetta.

The group later targeted a checkpoint in the Mir Hassan region of Naseerabad with small arms and grenade-launcher attacks, resulting in the deaths of two Pakistani security personnel and injuring another.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) asserted responsibility for two attacks on Pakistani military installations and checkpoints in Kech on March 7 and 8, which led to significant casualties and damage.

In a media release, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch mentioned that their fighters fired multiple grenade launchers at a joint Frontier Corps and Airport Security Force checkpoint at the main entrance of Turbat airport on March 8.

“This attack inflicted substantial casualties and material losses on enemy personnel at the checkpoint,” he remarked, revealing that BLF fighters also targeted a Pakistani military camp in the Hironk area on March 7 using heavy and automatic weapons.

Both factions characterized their assaults on Pakistani forces as part of a continuous armed struggle against what they term as “occupying forces” in Balochistan.
