Beirut, April 16 (NationPress) Israeli drones executed three airstrikes in close proximity to the village of Ramyeh in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon, as reported by Lebanese official sources through the state-run National News Agency (NNA).
The NNA disclosed that Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles conducted three consecutive strikes aimed at Wadi al-Mazlam on the outskirts of Ramyeh, situated in the central sector of the southern border area, without offering additional information.
Furthermore, the NNA mentioned a prior incident on Tuesday when an Israeli drone targeted a civilian vehicle near Aitaroun, a village along Lebanon's southern border, resulting in one fatality and three injuries, including a child.
As of now, Israel has not issued any comments regarding these attack reports, according to Xinhua news agency.
A ceasefire brokered by the US and France between Hezbollah and Israel has been in effect since November 27, 2024, concluding over a year of cross-border conflicts ignited by the war in Gaza.
Despite this truce, the Israeli military has persisted in conducting sporadic strikes in southern Lebanon, citing the necessity to combat threats from Hezbollah. Additionally, Israel has retained positions at five strategic locations along the Lebanese border, extending beyond a February 18 deadline for a complete withdrawal.
Earlier in March, Israeli airstrikes targeted a structure in Beirut's southern suburbs, marking the first such assault since the ceasefire was established on November 27.
The Israeli military stated that the target was a drone storage facility linked to Hezbollah in Dahieh, a stronghold of the Shiite militant organization near the Lebanese capital.
Before the attack, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued an evacuation notice through social media, recommending civilians to vacate a 300-metre radius around the targeted site. IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared a map indicating the location and urged immediate evacuation.
