New Delhi, Dec 10 (NationPress) Antonio Tajani, the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has landed in New Delhi on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to India. This marks his second trip this year, aimed at enhancing the India-Italy Strategic Partnership.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) welcomed Tajani via a post on X, stating, “His activities in Delhi and Mumbai will further fortify the India-Italy Strategic Partnership.”
During his visit, Tajani is set to engage with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar in New Delhi on Wednesday. He will then proceed to Mumbai for official engagements on Thursday, as per a media advisory from the MEA.
Tajani is expected to leave from Mumbai on Friday after wrapping up his commitments in India.
Previously, in April, during his visit, Tajani and Jaishankar assessed the growing bilateral cooperation under the Joint Strategic Action Plan (JSAP) 2025-29, covering trade, investment, defence, security, space, science, technology, clean energy transition, culture, tourism, and people-to-people connections.
The MEA noted that both parties expressed satisfaction with regular high-level interactions and acknowledged the vast collaborative potential in AI, cyber, telecom, digital technologies, renewable energy, biofuels, education, scientific research, and youth mobility.
The Ministers reaffirmed their dedication to elevating the bilateral strategic partnership and achieving tangible outcomes from the JSAP.
On November 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni conversed on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, discussing the enhancement of bilateral relations across sectors, including trade, investment, defence, innovation, AI, space, and education.
