In a separate post, the Ambassador referenced Bollywood's long association with Swiss and Kashmiri landscapes — from DDLJ to Jab Tak Hai Jaan — before underscoring shared responsibilities in mountain regions: 'resilience, sustainable #tourism and disaster risk reduction.' She also noted ongoing academic collaboration, including a Himalayan glaciology programme at the University of Kashmir and cloud research with ETH Zurich.

Who Is Maya Tissafi

Maya Tissafi is the Swiss Ambassador to India and Bhutan, having assumed her position in New Delhi in September 2024. A social scientist with a Master of Public Health from the Universities of Zurich, Basel, and Bern, and a diploma in mediation, she brings over 30 years of experience in diplomacy, peacebuilding, and development. She joined Switzerland's Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) in 2002 and has held the rank of Ambassador since 2011, with prior postings in the UAE, Bahrain, and the Middle East and North Africa region.
