Three Lives Lost in Israeli Airstrike on Southern Lebanese Town

Beirut, Dec 12 (NationPress) An Israeli airstrike targeted a neighborhood in the town of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, killing three individuals, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
Earlier on Wednesday, another airstrike resulted in the deaths of three more people and left one injured in strikes on the town of Khiam and the villages of Aainata and Beit Lif, as reported by Xinhua news agency citing Lebanon's official National News Agency.
On the same day, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati urged the five-member monitoring committee to take measures to halt Israel's violations of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah.
"It is also essential to ensure Israel's complete withdrawal from all territories it occupies and its actual commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701," Mikati said in a statement from his office.
Mikati highlighted the deployment of army units to Khiam and Marjeyoun towns, describing the reinforcement as a critical step in enforcing the ceasefire agreement.
The Lebanese army announced on Wednesday that its forces, in coordination with the UN Interim Force in Lebanon, were stationed at five strategic locations surrounding Khiam in southern Lebanon's border area.
The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, facilitated by the US and France, took effect on November 27, aiming to end over 14 months of conflict between the two factions.
According to the accord, Israel is to withdraw from Lebanese territory within 60 days, the Lebanese army will be deployed along the border, and Hezbollah is to retreat north of the Litani River.
Despite the truce, tensions persist as both sides continue to exchange accusations of ceasefire violations, raising doubts about the agreement's sustainability.
