New Hampshire, Sep 21 (NationPress) A tragic shooting incident occurred at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries on Saturday, as reported by local media citing officials.

At the time of the incident, the country club, situated near the Massachusetts border, was hosting various events.

Peter Hinckley, the Assistant Attorney General of New Hampshire, confirmed in a late-night press briefing that some victims had suffered from gunshot wounds, while others were injured in the ensuing chaos. However, officials did not disclose the precise number of injured individuals, as reported by CNN.

Currently, no arrests have been made, although one person of interest has been taken into custody, Hinckley stated.

Authorities revealed that surveillance footage captured the alleged shooter, prompting them to update their initial claim of two suspects being involved.

The New Hampshire State Police announced via X that they are actively assisting with the ongoing investigation. Additionally, the Nashua police have established the Sheraton Nashua hotel, located just over a mile from the country club, as a gathering site for affected families.

Officials have advised residents to steer clear of the Sky Meadow area until further notice.

Lawmakers expressed their concern regarding the incident, extending prayers to the victims and their families.

“Billy and I are praying for those injured,” stated Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, adding, “There is no place in our state for this kind of senseless violence.”

Rep. Maggie Goodlander also expressed her condolences, saying, “My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire Nashua community as we await more details.”

In a similar vein, Sen. Maggie Hassan issued a statement saying, “My heart goes out to the families of those affected,” while expressing gratitude for the efforts of law enforcement and first responders at the scene.

According to its official website, the Sky Meadow Country Club is a private venue that features a golf course and hosts weddings and other significant gatherings. Officials confirmed that a wedding was taking place during the shooting.

Located only 45 minutes from Boston, Nashua has been left in shock as authorities continue to investigate this tragic act of violence at the well-known venue.
