Washington, July 16 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine should refrain from targeting Moscow, following reports suggesting he had encouraged Kyiv to intensify strikes into Russian territory. When questioned by reporters on the South Lawn of the White House about whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should strike Moscow, Trump responded, “No, he shouldn't target Moscow.”
Regarding the possibility of the United States providing long-range missiles to Ukraine, Trump stated, “No, we're not looking to do that.”
When asked if he supported Ukraine, Trump remarked that he was on nobody's side, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
Earlier that day, Zelensky had expressed gratitude towards Trump for his willingness to assist Ukraine and help in efforts to bring an end to the war with Russia.
After what Zelensky characterized as a “very good conversation,” he appreciated Trump’s interest in achieving a “lasting and just peace” amid the ongoing conflict.

Thank you for your readiness to support Ukraine and for continuing our collaboration to stop the violence and establish a lasting and just peace. President Trump shared insights about his meeting with the NATO Secretary General. It’s crucial that we maintain a strong relationship, and the Alliance countries are working towards increasing defense spending,” Zelensky conveyed in a post on X.
