Trump Appoints Father of Son-in-Law as Ambassador to France

Washington, Dec 1 (NationPress) US President-elect Donald Trump has announced his intention to nominate Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law, for the role of US ambassador to France.
"I am delighted to nominate Charles Kushner from New Jersey to take on the responsibilities of US Ambassador to France. He is a remarkable business leader, philanthropist, and dealmaker, who will robustly advocate for our nation and its interests," Trump stated on his social media platform, Truth Social, as he made one of his initial significant ambassadorial selections on Saturday.
A prominent contributor to Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, Kushner is the founder and chairman of Kushner Companies, a privately-owned real estate firm, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
In 2004, he pleaded guilty to over a dozen charges related to tax evasion and other offenses but received a presidential pardon from Trump in December 2020.
Kushner's son Jared Kushner, who acted as a senior advisor to Trump during his first term, is married to Ivanka Trump, the president's eldest daughter.
