Washington, Jan 26 (NationPress) - President Donald J. Trump has announced plans for a significant ballroom complex at the White House, claiming it as a private gift to the nation while criticizing preservationists for their belated legal challenges against the project.

In a comprehensive statement on Truth Social, Trump revealed that the estimated cost for the project ranges from $300 million to $400 million, with meticulous planning in partnership with the US military and the Secret Service. He emphasized that taxpayer dollars would not be involved.

“I am creating, in addition to everything else I am doing, one of the most magnificent and stunning ballrooms globally, utilizing over $300 million from patriotic citizens, and collaborating closely from day one with the United States Military and Secret Service," Trump stated.

He referred to the project as “a GIFT (ZERO taxpayer funding!) to the United States of America,” noting that the ultimate expenditure would vary based on “the scope and quality of interior finishes.”

Trump pointed out that the ballroom is designed to fulfill a long-standing requirement for a sizable indoor venue for official White House events, a need that has been recognized by past presidents and administrations for over 150 years.

He asserted that this new ballroom would eliminate the necessity of relying on what he characterized as a “cheap and unsafe ‘tent’,” which is currently used for major state occasions, dinners, meetings, conferences, and upcoming inaugurations.

According to Trump, the initiative is crucial for security, safety, and capacity considerations, especially given the weather-related risks that come with outdoor or temporary setups.

Despite widespread awareness of the initiative, Trump lamented that it is now facing legal opposition. He mentioned that he had been sued by the “Radical Left National (No!) Trust for Historic Preservation.”

“But no, as usual, I got sued,” Trump wrote, alleging that the organization is attempting to obstruct what he describes as a broadly supported effort.

He confirmed that substantial construction materials have already been ordered or are prepared to be ordered, which include “Structural Steel, Windows, Doors, A.C./Heating Equipment, Marble, Stone, Precast Concrete, Bulletproof Windows and Glass, Anti-Drone Roofing, and much more.”

“There is no practical or reasonable way to go back. IT IS TOO LATE!” Trump stated emphatically.

He questioned the timing of the lawsuit and remarked that Congress has never sought to halt the project. “Everyone was aware of what was happening at the White House,” he asserted.

Trump also addressed concerns regarding the East Wing, which is adjacent to the proposed addition, stating that the structure has undergone significant alterations over the years.

“For those interested, the small East Wing has been so ‘bastardized’ and modified, built and rebuilt through time, that it bears no resemblance or connection to the original structure,” he remarked.

Trump contended that preservationists should not be permitted to obstruct what he considers an essential enhancement to the White House. He emphasized that a president has never needed approval to modify or augment the complex due to the grounds' unique status.

He concluded by stating that the project holds the “design, consent, and approval of the highest levels of the United States Military and Secret Service.” The lawsuit’s filing has also revealed what he described as a previously confidential detail.

Trump cautioned that halting construction at this stage would lead to significant repercussions. “Stopping construction at this late date, given that so much has already been ordered and completed, would be disastrous for the White House, our Country, and all involved,” he emphasized.
