This visit aims to reassess bilateral collaboration across significant sectors and engage in discussions about both global and regional dynamics, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Saturday.

This diplomatic engagement follows the visits of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron to India in January and February 2026, respectively. The MEA highlighted that this trip aligns with the ongoing high-level dialogues between India and Europe.

The statement from the MEA emphasized, "This visit will serve as a platform to evaluate the comprehensive range of India’s bilateral relations with both nations while enhancing ongoing cooperation in key priority sectors."

In Paris, Foreign Secretary Misri will co-chair the India-France Foreign Office Consultations alongside Martin Briens, the Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Discussions will encompass a broad array of topics, including defence, civil nuclear energy, space, cyber and digitalAI, innovation, as well as initiatives promoting cultural ties and people-to-people exchanges, in addition to the latest global and regional issues, as per the MEA.

In Berlin, Misri will also co-chair the India-Germany Foreign Office Consultations with Geza Andreas von Geyr, the State Secretary of the German Foreign Office.

"These discussions will span various sectors of bilateral cooperation, covering trade and investments, defence and security, technology, green energy, development cooperation, education, and fostering people-to-people ties, as well as global and regional matters of shared interest," the MEA stated.

The Foreign Secretary is also anticipated to engage with other dignitaries and senior officials in both countries.

This visit comes on the heels of Misri's recent trip to Washington, where he thoroughly reviewed the multifaceted ties between India and the United States, promoting collaboration across vital sectors such as trade, defence, and technology.

During his meetings with senior US officials this week, India and the United States expanded their cooperation in areas like energy, critical technologies, and defence, indicating a deeper strategic alignment.
