The warning follows last week's WMO assessment that global average temperatures are likely to remain at or near record levels over the next five years, with Arctic anomalies expected to outpace the global mean. The finding is drawn from the Global Annual to Decadal Climate Update 2026-2035, produced by Britain's Met Office and the WMO Lead Centre for Annual to Decadal Climate Prediction, synthesising contributions from 13 institutes.
