Following the accident, chaos ensued at the location, resulting in significant traffic congestion on the busy NH-30. Emergency responders acted after the crowd's uproar, and personnel from the Highway Patrolling Team transported the injured to local medical facilities.
Most of the victims were taken to Civil Hospitals in Maihar and Amarpatan, with two critically injured individuals referred to the District Hospital in Satna for further treatment, according to police reports.
The injured at Amarpatan Civil Hospital include Sankhibai Saket (50), Ajay Bunkar (17), Pradeep Saket (24), and Santosh Saket (50), with several others receiving care at the Maihar facility.
In a separate incident, relatives of patients at Amarpatan Civil Hospital expressed outrage after a '108' ambulance took several hours to arrive.
Authorities have begun an investigation into the precise circumstances of the accident, including the roles of the speeding vehicle and the parked tractor-trolley on the highway.
The police have filed a case and are interrogating the trailer's driver, who is currently in custody.
