Gwalior, August 5 (NationPress) Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia reported on Tuesday that the tragic toll from rain-related incidents in Madhya Pradesh during the last week of July has reached 29 fatalities.
According to the Union Communications Minister, a survey by the Madhya Pradesh government revealed that Shivpuri was severely impacted by flooding, resulting in the loss of 22 lives, while Guna district recorded 7 deaths.
Furthermore, he mentioned that over 3,000 individuals were rescued from Guna, Shivpuri, and Ashoknagar after a relentless 72 hours of rainfall led to widespread flooding.
"The Armed Forces, NDRF, and SDRF teams have successfully airlifted nearly 400 people to relief camps established in various locations across Guna, Shivpuri, and Ashoknagar districts," the Union Minister informed reporters.
This announcement followed an aerial survey conducted by him and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in his Lok Sabha constituency, Guna.
He stated that the state government is currently evaluating the total damages to crops, homes, and other properties, ensuring that affected individuals will receive appropriate compensation.
During the aerial reconnaissance, he observed extensive destruction, with homes destroyed and livestock and crops lost. CM Mohan Yadav has pledged to provide compensation, added Union Minister Scindia.
In a meeting with flood-affected residents in Guna, the Union Minister assured them of the unwavering support from both the central and state governments.
"I empathize with your suffering at this moment and assure you that the BJP government stands with you. Every loss will be assessed during the survey, and suitable compensation will be disbursed from both the Central and State governments," he stated during his visit to a village in Guna.
Jyotiraditya Scindia also expressed his appreciation to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their critical support in deploying the Armed Forces and NDRF.
