Jaipur, April 17 (NationPress) On Friday, the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Vasudev Devnani, revealed that a group of international delegates will be visiting to observe the workings of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Saturday.
In total, 43 delegates from 17 nations, including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Ghana, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Zambia, are set to engage in this global initiative.
Devnani elaborated that this event is part of the 37th International Training Programme themed “International Legislative Drafting,” organized by the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) under the auspices of the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
This programme is conducted under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) scheme, facilitated by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The aim is to bolster the understanding, skills, and methods of legislative drafting for the international attendees.
During their visit, delegates will tour significant areas such as the Assembly Hall, the Legislative Assembly building, and the Political Narrative Museum.
Devnani emphasized that this initiative will showcase the State Legislature on a global stage. Participants will receive insights into the operational mechanisms, legislative processes, and parliamentary traditions of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.
Moreover, the delegates will engage with Presiding Officers and the Assembly Secretary, meet prominent legal professionals, and visit key legal institutions throughout the state.
Additionally, arrangements will be made for the delegates to explore notable tourist sites, allowing them to experience Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage.
Devnani remarked, “This programme offers representatives from various countries a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of India’s democratic framework and legislative operations at the state level, thereby enhancing parliamentary collaboration and promoting international knowledge exchange.”
Earlier in January, a 120-member parliamentary delegation from 40 Commonwealth nations visited Jaipur for a two-day engagement.
