A Reliable Government Can Enhance the Quality of Life for Delhi Residents: Kiran Bedi

New Delhi, Dec 26 (NationPress) Kiran Bedi, a prominent BJP leader and the first female IPS officer of India, expressed on Thursday that the residents of Delhi are eager for an enhanced quality of life and upgraded social amenities. However, she pointed out that this is unattainable without an effective and trustworthy government that works holistically and wholeheartedly to address their needs and dreams.
Her comments hold significant weight against the backdrop of a contentious political rivalry between the ruling AAP and the opposition BJP.
The two parties are embroiled in a fierce exchange of accusations, with the AAP, led by Kejriwal, alleging that the BJP is ‘bribing’ voters in his constituency, while the BJP criticizes the ruling party for its ‘dubious and dishonest’ electoral promises, such as ‘Sanjeevani’ and ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’.
Kiran Bedi stated to IANS that the people of Delhi desire a better quality of life, which can only be achieved through good and effective governance built on the trust of the populace.
She remarked, “Those on the edge of life seek the essentials for survival. Meanwhile, those who are not in this situation are pursuing growth and a better quality of life. All of this will arise from comprehensive good governance founded on people’s trust,” she elaborated.
Bedi further emphasized that the key to a brighter future for the residents of Delhi lies in adopting a trusteeship mindset, where everyone lives with integrity and honesty, “free of scams and scandals,” a statement seen as a critique of AAP ministers' encounters with corruption and their subsequent imprisonment.
“Only by doing this can we satisfy everyone’s needs rather than succumbing to the greed of a few,” she added.
Expanding on her vision for Delhi, she highlighted the diverse needs of various demographics, stating that the current government must address these issues.
“Women are seeking safety and dignity, the elderly desire care and a quality of life that supports them in their later years, many households aim to cover basic living expenses, youths seek healthy mobility and clean air, commuters want efficient transportation, and children aspire for quality education nearby. Educators look for well-paying jobs that utilize their skills, and professionals seek opportunities for growth and enhancement of their capabilities,” she explained, urging collective efforts to realize these aspirations.
