New Delhi, Feb 7 (NationPress) As the countdown begins for the announcement of the Delhi Assembly election results, political fervor has escalated in the national capital. A crucial meeting was convened by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal with all party candidates at his residence on Friday, coinciding with the Delhi LG's directive for an ACB investigation into allegations of 'poaching' against the party.
AAP leader Gopal Rai asserted on Friday that according to internal reports from party candidates, AAP is on track to achieve victories in over 50 seats, with 7-8 seats experiencing tight races.
The meeting, characterized as an informal discussion over tea, occurred amidst AAP's accusations against the BJP for allegedly attempting to sway its candidates through financial incentives and the LG's order for the ACB.
Regarding the forthcoming poll results, which are set to be revealed on Saturday, Gopal Rai stated, "The citizens of Delhi have cast their votes in favor of the AAP. The party is prepared to take charge of the government," Rai declared.
He further charged the BJP with leveraging "Exit Polls to create a psychological narrative" and claimed that AAP candidates have been contacted with offers of money to change allegiances. "Operation Lotus is underway," he remarked, alluding to the BJP’s supposed strategy of enticing Opposition leaders.
"Numerous candidates have reported receiving persistent calls, wherein they are being offered cash and promised ministerial roles should they defect to the BJP. These incidents clearly signal an attempt to exert psychological pressure through Exit Polls and implement Operation Lotus," Rai stated.
Senior AAP figure Sandeep Pathak echoed these allegations, mentioning that several candidates had received propositions from the BJP. "We have even disclosed some of these phone numbers to the press," he noted, emphasizing AAP's resolve against such maneuvers.
Another prominent AAP leader, Durgesh Pathak, pointed out that the meeting also served to gather insights from candidates who had been actively campaigning over the last two months. "We explored the ground realities and the evolving electoral dynamics," he detailed.
