New Delhi, Feb 19 (NationPress) AAP leader and former Delhi minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday ridiculed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that while the party is sending out invitations for the Chief Minister's swearing-in ceremony, it has yet to reveal who will assume the office.
In a conversation with IANS, Rai stated: "The BJP is trivializing all traditions. They are inviting individuals, yet the identity of the new Delhi Chief Minister remains unannounced."
Regarding invitations sent to AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and MLA Atishi for the event, he remarked that it is high time for the BJP to declare their Chief Ministerial candidate.
"This is not merely a BJP swearing-in ceremony; it is for the Chief Minister. The BJP must make an official announcement. We will determine later whether AAP leaders will participate or not," Rai commented.
The BJP is expected to unveil its Chief Minister candidate following a Legislature party meeting at the state unit office located at Pant Marg around 7 p.m.
Rai also mentioned that during a meeting with party officials and representatives, they provided an oral report concerning the Assembly constituencies.
"Today we convened a meeting with AAP's district Presidents and Secretaries, Assembly Presidents, and organizational ministers from all assembly constituencies in Delhi. During this meeting, all party officials presented their reports and recommendations."
A ten-day period has been allotted for them to submit a review report, after which discussions will occur with the AAP Convenor, leading to decisions on party leader appointments based on the findings, he indicated.
The AAP leader further stated that those who contributed positively during the elections will receive recognition.
In the Assembly elections held on February 5, the BJP claimed 48 seats, significantly reducing AAP's representation to only 22 seats.
The lotus has flourished in the national capital after a 27-year hiatus, while the Congress party has once again failed to secure any seats.
