BJP Critiques AAP: Is Arvind Kejriwal the Sole Focus?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, April 3 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken aim at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, asserting that the party has devolved into a vehicle for a singular figure and that anyone with a genuine moral compass cannot align with him.
This statement follows the AAP's recent decision to oust MP Raghav Chadha from his role as Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha, substituting him with fellow Punjab MP, Ashok Mittal. Reports suggest the party has also advised the Secretariat not to allocate any speaking time to the outgoing deputy leader.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal remarked, "This action illustrates that the Aam Aadmi Party is no longer representative of the people's interests; it has become centered solely around Arvind Kejriwal. Those who wish to remain in the party must continue to praise him."
Khandelwal further accused Kejriwal of harboring an inflated ego and a sense of arrogance.
"What happened to the foundational issues that led to the formation of AAP? Has Arvind Kejriwal completely disregarded them? In his pursuit of power, he has abandoned all those principles. Only those willing to tolerate his arrogance can stay in his orbit. Raghav Chadha is not the first; there is a long history of individuals who have been expelled from AAP by Kejriwal," he claimed.
When asked about the rumors of Chadha potentially joining the BJP, Khandelwal declined to comment, stating, "Only time will reveal Raghav Chadha's next steps, but it is clear that AAP has distanced itself from him."
Similarly, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra shared his perspective, stating, "This is merely a dispute over stolen assets. First, it was Delhi, then Punjab, and now these 'thieves' are clashing amongst themselves. The reality is that anyone possessing a sense of integrity cannot remain with Kejriwal."
"Only those lacking integrity, engaging in corruption, or possessing ulterior motives can stay. Anyone with a sense of truth cannot align themselves with Kejriwal," he added.
On Friday, Chadha broke his silence, responding strongly via X, stating, "Silenced, not defeated. My message to the 'aam aadmi': Khamosh Karwaya Gaya Hun, Hara Nahi Hun. 'Aam Aadmi Ko Mera Sandesh.'"
In response, Mishra commented, "If you are departing from there, share the truth with the public. Venting personal grievances will not yield results."
Furthermore, the Delhi Minister accused AAP of engaging in corruption and forming questionable alliances with Khalistani terrorists in Punjab.
"Address the theft and corruption in Delhi, the agreements AAP has made with Khalistani terrorists in Punjab, the drug trade corruption, and the public deception. Discuss the issues that genuinely concern the citizens, who are already aware of everything happening," he urged.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh commented, "This is an internal party matter. Each party has the right to manage its leadership and decide who to appoint or relieve of duties. Such changes are commonplace in all political organizations."
AAP MP Malwinder Singh Kang defended the party's leadership decision, stating, "This was a decision made by the party. Leadership changes have occurred before, and they will continue to do so."
