New Delhi, Feb 2 (NationPress) As the Delhi Assembly elections approach on February 5, BJP National Spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra has accused former minister and AAP’s Malviya Nagar MLA Somnath Bharti and his alleged ‘proxy’ of being implicated in a land scam in the Jaitpur area of south-east Delhi.
During a press conference, Patra claimed that Bharti and his proxy encroached on a landowner’s plot by reportedly utilizing forged documents to dispossess the rightful owner.
Patra presented a sting audio clip where Bharti allegedly instructs a police officer to discard the “seizure memo” related to the case and suppress the original owner’s complaint by accepting a bribe.
He also accused AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and his party of engaging in fraudulent practices such as bogus voting, double voting, and illegal voter inking in return for cash.
“The AAP has been involved in corruption across all sectors. The voters of Delhi are set to mark the faces of these scamsters with black ink,” he asserted.
Patra mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has aptly referred to the ruling party in Delhi as AAP-da — a party whose primary asset is corruption.
“Whether it pertains to liquor, excise, or policy decisions that have led to the largest corruption cases in India, or the Delhi Jal Board where nearly Rs 29,000 crores were misappropriated, or the Rs 4,500 crore DTC bus scam, Rs 1,300 crore school classroom scam, the AAP is synonymous with corruption,” he stated.
In response to Kejriwal’s earlier remarks aimed at BJP leaders, Patra remarked, "The election atmosphere in Delhi is intensifying, and naturally, Kejriwal’s frustration is becoming apparent. His foul language indicates that he is facing a significant defeat in the elections.”
“The PM and Home Minister of a nation that conducts surgical strikes are powerful and respected figures. Anyone resorting to abusive language against them is likely acting out of desperation and fear of losing the election,” Patra added.
He also criticized Kejriwal for misleading slum residents by falsely claiming that the BJP intends to demolish their shelters.
PM Modi has assured that their homes will remain untouched as he promises to provide them with pucca houses instead.
Patra concluded by stating that the AAP has been aptly termed 'AAPda' by PM Modi because it is a party designed for looting.
