New Delhi, Feb 3 (NationPress) With only two days remaining until the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP MP and national spokesperson Sambit Patra visited the Bijwasan Assembly constituency on Monday, delivering a harsh critique of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government regarding the severe circumstances in the area.
Joined by BJP candidate Kailash Gahlot, Patra explored the Kapashera region and emphasized the critical water crisis, claiming that residents are compelled to purchase water from tanker mafias due to the government's inability to supply clean drinking water.
"There is chaos everywhere. These are not electric wires; these are water pipes… People have to buy water and also pay private water bills," Patra told IANS, recalling how Arvind Kejriwal once vowed to transform Delhi into the Venice of India. Instead, he asserted that the circumstances have worsened significantly.
Patra accused the Kejriwal government of colluding with water mafias, asserting that contractors associated with AAP leaders are manipulating the water supply and unlawfully profiting from it.
"Mafia associates have installed tanks in their homes, supplying water to every household through private pipes and meters, which are not monitored by the Delhi Jal Board or the government," he claimed.
According to Patra, residents are obligated to pay Rs 200-250 for essential water needs, while a separate tanker for drinking water incurs an additional Rs 20 per household. He further alleged that the money collected from these unlawful activities is being funneled directly into Kejriwal's pockets.
"The Delhi government has only been involved in fraud and scams. People lack access to drinking water, yet private bills are being issued under the government's watch. Water pipes hang like tangled wires, and the Delhi government is nowhere in sight. Kejriwal's illegal operations are thriving while he remains oblivious," Patra stated.
With campaigning concluding later today, political parties are making their final appeals to voters, intensifying their attacks as they strive to gain an advantage before Delhi votes on February 5.
