Delhi Congress Critiques Kejriwal's Assurance of Continuous Water Supply

New Delhi, Dec 24 (NationPress) The President of Delhi Congress, Devender Yadav, stated on Tuesday that with the Delhi Assembly elections on the horizon, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal seems to be excessively focused on making empty declarations, the most recent being his vow of 'round-the-clock' water supply.
He criticized Kejriwal's claim, made during his visit to the Pandav Nagar DDA flats in the Rajinder Nagar area, asserting that even residents on the third floor would receive uninterrupted water supply all day.
Yadav pointed out the irony that for many in Delhi, drinking water has become a luxury, reliant on the tanker mafia.
He mentioned that the only period when Delhi residents experience consistent water supply is during the monsoon, when the city becomes flooded due to the neglect of drain and sewer desilting since Kejriwal took office over a decade ago.
Yadav urged Kejriwal to visit the slum clusters, resettlement, and unauthorized colonies to understand the struggles faced by those residents in accessing drinking water, which has become a valuable resource.
He noted that even when residents receive a small amount of water for just a few minutes daily from the Delhi Jal Board pipes, they consider themselves fortunate.
The Delhi Congress Chief expressed that under the leadership of Kejriwal and Atishi, the tanker mafia has exploited the underprivileged.
He remarked that Kejriwal had previously instructed residents not to pay the inflated water bills that have been issued since the announcement of his 'free' water supply.
Yadav asserted that like many of his other promises, Kejriwal's 'free' water remains merely theoretical.
He further criticized that Kejriwal has been misleading the people of Delhi with numerous 'free' schemes, benefiting only himself and his 'team of looters' who profit illegally through various scams, including the corrupt liquor policy, classroom construction, DTC bus procurement and maintenance, and the 'Sheesh Mahal' construction, among others.
He alleged that Kejriwal has profited at the expense of the residents of Delhi.
