Jaipur, Feb 27 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari announced in the Assembly on Thursday that Abhaneri in Dausa will undergo development as a tourism destination in the 2025-26 budget to enhance rural and heritage tourism.

She pointed out that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is currently engaged in conservation and restoration efforts at the renowned Chand Baori stepwell and Harshat Mata Temple located in Abhaneri.

During the Question Hour, while addressing supplementary inquiries, the Deputy Chief Minister affirmed that the state government prioritizes development, renovation, conservation, infrastructure improvements, repairs, and enhancement of parking facilities based on necessity and budget availability.

In response to a query from MLA Bhagchand Takra, she reiterated that Chand Baori and Harshat Mata Temple are protected monuments under the Archaeological Survey of India. She submitted a report in the Assembly outlining the ongoing conservation and repair initiatives at these historical sites. Furthermore, she informed the House that proposals for tourism development are evaluated and executed according to mutual priorities.

A detailed report on approved tourism development projects across various locations in Dausa district was also presented. This initiative aims to transform Abhaneri into a significant hub for heritage tourism, thereby enhancing the local economy and cultural preservation.

She further stated that the state government is dedicated to preserving temples, ancient shrines, and monuments of archaeological significance.

Among these, the Nabhadungri-Shiva Temple in Jaisalmer is currently in a state of disrepair.

The Deputy Chief Minister assured that the temple's condition will be assessed as a priority, and necessary restoration work will be carried out as required.

In response to further inquiries, she mentioned that the repair and conservation of temples and monuments is an ongoing process, dependent on the availability of financial resources.

She emphasized that the state government is committed to preserving the nation's cultural heritage and assured that restoration efforts for temples and archaeological sites in Jaisalmer will be conducted as necessary.

Earlier, in a written response to a question from MLA Chhotu Singh, she provided the House with a comprehensive list of temples and ancient monuments of archaeological importance in Jaisalmer district.
