Kolkata, March 28 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, stated on Friday that he has addressed a letter to Governor C.V. Ananda Bose, urging him to instruct the state government to deploy the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in Mothabari, located in Malda district, following a significant attack on the Hindus.

In the letter, which is available with IANS, the LoP informed the Governor that "a shocking incident occurred on March 27, 2025, where a large group of miscreants from a specific community targeted and viciously attacked the Sanatani Hindus in the area.

He also pointed out that "this despicable act epitomizes the complete lawlessness in West Bengal, highlighting the urgent necessity for CAPF deployment to safeguard the Sanatani Hindus from such assaults by the mentioned miscreants.

"Thus, I kindly request your esteemed office to take swift action to deploy paramilitary forces to protect the Sanatani Hindus in Mothabari, Malda," Adhikari's correspondence with the Governor stated.

Adhikari further claimed to journalists that the miscreants in Mothabari became uncontrollable, plundering, beating, and vandalizing without restraint.

"Their targets were Hindus. Because of this, I believe that CAPF deployment is the sole solution to restore order, as the police have failed to manage the vandalism and lawlessness. The state police acted like 'helpless puppets,' merely pleading with the miscreants. These individuals took over the main roads and vandalized numerous vehicles at will," the LoP expressed.

He also accused the state government and the ruling Trinamool Congress of crafting a plan for a "Greater Bangladesh" through politics of appeasement.

"Nonetheless, I vow to pursue this matter to the end. I will hold these miscreants accountable through legal means, just as I have done before in various parts of West Bengal," Adhikari concluded.
