New Delhi, Feb 2 (NationPress) The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), located in New Delhi, has been granted a special budget allocation aimed at enhancing research, innovation, and the overall growth of this esteemed medical institution.

Dr. Rima Dada, who oversees the AIIMS Hospital Media Cell, emphasized the importance of this allocation, stating that the increased financial backing will empower AIIMS to further establish itself as a national center for advanced medical research, innovation, and capacity enhancement.

In an interview with IANS, Dr. Rima elaborated that the funds would be directed towards fostering leading-edge research across various medical fields, promoting innovative healthcare delivery methods, and bolstering development initiatives within the institute. The ultimate goal is to improve patient outcomes while simultaneously advancing scientific understanding.

“This special allocation in the health budget will invigorate our research, innovation, and development efforts at AIIMS. It will enable us to fortify existing research programs and open new pathways for innovation in the medical sector,” said Dr. Rima.

She pointed out that AIIMS has consistently been at the forefront of clinical research, translational studies, and evidence-based medicine, and this additional support will further amplify its capabilities. The allocation is also anticipated to assist in upgrading the infrastructure and facilities crucial for advanced research and academic excellence.

Moreover, this allocation is expected to bolster developmental activities, such as enhancing institutional capacity, improving training prospects for healthcare professionals, and cultivating an ecosystem that encourages scientific exploration and innovation.

Dr. Rima highlighted AIIMS’ national obligation, noting that the institution not only offers specialized healthcare services but also plays a vital role in policy-relevant research and medical education. “With this budgetary support, AIIMS will be in a stronger position to cater to patients, mentor future healthcare leaders, and contribute to the evolution of medical science,” she remarked.

This year, AIIMS, New Delhi, has received an augmented allocation of Rs 5,500.92 crore, reflecting a 5.85% increase from the previous year.

The special funding for AIIMS Delhi underscores the government's commitment to strengthening premier healthcare institutions as part of broader initiatives aimed at enhancing health outcomes, fostering innovation, and building a resilient healthcare system across the nation.
