The incident came to light on April 13, when she revealed the sexual assault to her husband post-discharge, prompting him to notify the police.
A case has been registered at the Sadar Police Station based on the complaint of the 46-year-old woman, and an investigation is underway.
In her complaint, she stated that she had traveled to Gurugram for training on behalf of her company and was residing in a hotel. Her health worsened due to a drowning incident, necessitating her admission to a private hospital for treatment.
On April 5, she was transferred to another hospital in Gurugram for further care and was discharged on April 13.
While receiving treatment on April 6, she was on a ventilator when some hospital staff allegedly sexually assaulted her. At that moment, she was unable to speak and was in a state of fear, reportedly also unconscious, with two nurses present.
After her discharge, she informed her husband about the assault, who then called the police at 112 and lodged a formal complaint with the assistance of a legal advisor.
In response to the victim's complaint, a case has been filed at the Sadar Police Station, Gurugram. A police team promptly visited the hospital to review the duty roster and analyze CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators, said Gurugram police spokesman Sandeep Kumar.
The police have undertaken further actions regarding the case, and the accused's statements have been recorded before a magistrate. The police team is expected to identify and apprehend the suspects soon.
Hospital authorities declined to comment on the issue, and when contacted, security personnel at the hospital claimed to have no knowledge of the incident.
