New Delhi, Sep 18 (NationPress) The number of air passengers was approximately 11 crore in 2014, and it has now remarkably increased to about 25 crore in 2025, according to Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu.
He highlighted the transformation of Hindon Airport, which had merely one flight in 2020 and is now connected to 16 cities across the nation, showcasing a significant achievement.
During the launch of the nationwide 'Yatri Sewa Diwas 2025' at Hindon Airport, Naidu emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to delivering superior travel experiences and world-class services to every passenger.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the concept of governance has evolved over the last 11 years, focusing on public service. Inspired by this vision, the aviation sector prioritizes each passenger, viewing every journey as a chance to serve with commitment,” stated the minister.
He acknowledged that passengers represent the essence of our flourishing aviation industry, hence the introduction of 'Yatri Sewa Diwas.'
“This event is not only a celebration of our advancements but also a reaffirmation of our dedication to ensuring that every journey is smooth and dignified, embodying the 'Passenger First' spirit, aligned with the Prime Minister’s 'Nation First' vision,” Naidu remarked.
He pointed out that under PM Modi's guidance, the civil aviation industry has shifted from catering to the privileged few to serving the masses.
Thanks to the innovative regional connectivity scheme UDAN, air travel in India has become more available, accessible, and affordable.
The minister also mentioned that soon, all airports will be Wi-Fi enabled as part of the Digital India Mission, revolutionizing the passenger experience.
