Jaipur, April 23 (NationPress) Haji Syed Salman Chishti, the head priest of Dargah Ajmer Sharif and President of Chishti Foundation, expressed his condolences on the tragic death of 26 tourists in the Pahalgam terror attack, labeling this act as a severe assault on humanity.

“We are profoundly saddened and horrified by these brutal murders. The vile act, aimed at innocent tourists, is not only cowardly but represents a serious assault on the very essence of humanity. On behalf of Dargah Ajmer Sharif, we vehemently denounce this barbaric and senseless act of violence. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families who have lost their loved ones, and we pray for the swift recovery of those injured,” stated Chishti in his message.

He further remarked that this tragic event serves as another grim reminder of how terrorism poses a significant threat to global peace and human values.

“It is imperative that we all unite against such atrocities, upholding the values of peace, compassion, and brotherhood,” he urged, calling on the government to take stringent action against those responsible.

“We call upon the Government of India to ensure that the individuals behind this atrocious crime are swiftly and decisively brought to justice. We also urge all citizens to maintain calm, foster unity, and collectively reject all forms of violence and hatred,” he added.

At least 26 tourists were murdered on Tuesday when gunmen opened fire on innocent civilians in Baisaran, located in Jammu and Kashmir.

Eyewitness reports indicate that a group of heavily armed terrorists emerged from nearby woodlands and indiscriminately fired upon civilians, most of whom were tourists.

Baisran is a small meadow situated three to four kilometers from the Pahalgam market, and tourists typically ride horses to reach it due to the absence of a motorable road.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to New Delhi on Wednesday morning after cutting short his trip to Saudi Arabia in response to the terror attack.

He held a brief meeting with NSA Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri upon arrival at the airport. PM Modi strongly condemned the terror attack on Tuesday, asserting that the perpetrators would face justice while reaffirming India’s “unwavering” commitment to combat terrorism.
