Patna, Aug 30 (NationPress) The BJP and its coalition partners have launched a fierce critique against the Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav for his involvement in the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, which is spearheaded by the Congress and RJD. They have accused the coalition of propagating "false narratives" and asserted that the campaign will yield no positive results.
BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain condemned Yadav's participation, stating, "Even animals flee upon seeing him (Akhilesh Yadav) in that red cap; how can the public rally around him? After spreading false narratives in Uttar Pradesh during the Lok Sabha elections to secure a few seats, he has grown overconfident."
National President of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), Upendra Kushwaha, shared similar sentiments, telling IANS, "Anyone can join, whether it’s Akhilesh Yadav or other leaders from across the nation. What difference does it make? This matter is trivial."
Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad also criticized Yadav's involvement, recalling that the SP was founded to counter Congress policies.
Nishad remarked, "Congress policies have always been detrimental to the backward, oppressed, and underprivileged, and the Samajwadi Party was established in opposition to them."
On the other hand, the Congress and RJD are optimistic that Yadav's participation will energize their initiative.
Congress MP Imran Masood praised the development, stating, "Rahul Gandhi has ignited a new revolution across the country, and that spirit is now gaining momentum. The anxiety among BJP leaders is becoming evident. They may attempt to manipulate the situation with false narratives, but it will not prevail."
RJD spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwari expressed that the march has already garnered immense public support.
"The Voter Adhikar Yatra has reached its final stage with a substantial public turnout showing support for Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav. Today, Akhilesh Yadav and Rohini Acharya will also join the march to witness the public’s discontent and overwhelming support firsthand," he told IANS.
"Chants of 'vote chor, gadi chor' are resonating throughout Bihar, and these voices are being heard in the corridors of power in Delhi. The ruling government at the Centre is rattled, which is why the BJP is attempting to distract from the real issues," Tiwari added.
The yatra, led by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, has entered its 14th day in Bihar, attracting significant crowds and participation from leaders of other INDIA bloc parties.
This campaign, which addresses alleged discrepancies in the voters' list and the need to protect democratic rights, has become a focal point for the INDIA bloc in their opposition to the BJP-led NDA government and the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Bihar electoral roll.
