Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 26 (NationPress) On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled and laid the digital foundation stones for numerous infrastructure initiatives of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Border Outposts of Leti and Indarwa in Araria, Bihar.
During his address to SSB personnel and local community members, the Home Minister highlighted the necessity for increased vigilance along the India–Nepal border, despite India's amicable relations with its neighbor.
"While we share a border with a friendly nation, it is crucial to acknowledge that anti-national elements may attempt to exploit this route to infiltrate India. Thus, the Sashastra Seema Bal must remain vigilant and enhance its intelligence framework," HM Shah stated.
He underscored the significance of grassroots intelligence, advocating for robust communication between SSB personnel and the inhabitants of border villages.
"Effective interaction between our soldiers, officers, and border communities is essential for obtaining precise and timely information," he remarked.
Reiterating a pivotal electoral promise, the Union Home Minister announced that the Central government is set to initiate a vigorous campaign against infiltration in the Seemanchal region of Bihar.
"We assured the residents of Bihar that we would liberate the state from infiltrators. This commitment goes beyond merely removing names from the voter list; we are resolute in our goal to eliminate every infiltrator from Indian territory," HM Shah declared.
He indicated that the campaign would soon commence, targeting the demolition of all illegal encroachments within a 10-kilometer radius of the international border, alongside the identification and deportation of infiltrators.
He contended that infiltrators not only sway electoral outcomes but also deprive the impoverished of essential welfare benefits.
"Infiltrators seize the ration allocated to the poor, diminish employment prospects for our youth, and pose a significant threat to national security. It is imperative for the entire nation to tackle this issue with resolve," he emphasized.
Reflecting on his election campaign, Shah mentioned his four-day engagement in Seemanchal and appealed for the ongoing support of the people to fulfill the promises made during that time.
The Home Minister asserted that demographic shifts due to infiltration have notably impacted West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar.
Regarding the elections in West Bengal, he expressed confidence that the BJP would assume power there. "Upon the formation of a BJP government in Bengal, prioritizing border fencing and expelling infiltrators will be among our top objectives," he declared.
HM Shah concluded by affirming that the NDA government in Bihar has received a clear public mandate regarding this agenda and that ensuring border security and tackling infiltration remain fundamental to the government's vision for the welfare of Bihar.
