Amit Shah's Upcoming 3-Day Visit to Bihar: Addressing Demographic Challenges and Security Concerns
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Feb 24 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to undertake a three-day trip to Bihar starting Wednesday, aimed at evaluating security protocols, administrative readiness, and the progress of development projects in the state's border regions, with a particular focus on the India-Nepal border.
High-ranking officials from the Union Home Ministry will join HM Shah to engage in discussions with key state authorities regarding the demographic shifts observed in the Seemanchal area and the strategies required to address these changes.
This visit is viewed as a crucial step by the Home Minister in light of the government's characterization of certain regions as experiencing population imbalances.
According to the planned schedule, HM Shah will arrive in Purnea at 4 p.m. on February 25 and will take a helicopter to Kishanganj. He is set to lead a review meeting at the Collectorate from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will spend the night in Kishanganj.
On February 26, the Home Minister will head to Araria, where he will participate in an event at the Letti border outpost at 11 a.m.
He will then convene a high-level review meeting at the Collectorate with Superintendents of Police and district officials from border areas to evaluate concerns related to the India-Nepal border.
Additionally, he will participate in an event under the Vibrant Villages initiative before returning to Purnea for an overnight stay.
On February 27, HM Shah will once again convene meetings in Purnea to discuss issues pertinent to border districts. Following the concluding review meetings, he will head back to New Delhi.
This visit is regarded as essential for enhancing border security, monitoring the progress of development initiatives, and ensuring effective administrative coordination in sensitive districts.
Logistical arrangements have been finalized, and comprehensive security measures have been established ahead of the visit.
The Seemanchal region is anticipated to be a primary focus during this trip. This initiative is seen as the next major priority for the Home Ministry, succeeding its 'Naxal-Mukt Bharat' campaign, with a specific goal of rendering Seemanchal infiltrator-free. HM Shah has previously visited Seemanchal multiple times in recent years.
During the last Bihar Assembly elections, he had repeatedly claimed that attempts were being made to establish a vote bank through illegal immigrants in the region, asserting that the NDA government would not condone such actions.
He emphasized that every infiltrator would be identified and deported, and that all unlawful activities would be completely eradicated.
