Amit Shah's arrival was postponed until Thursday night, reaching Jammu at approximately 11 p.m. He was welcomed by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha at the airport before heading to Lok Bhawan for the night.

The Home Minister is scheduled to visit frontline areas on the International Border, including the Border Outposts of Gurnam and Bobiya in the Hiranagar sector, to examine measures implemented by the BSF to prevent infiltration.
He will e-inaugurate and lay the e-foundation for six welfare initiatives aimed at BSF personnel from the Bobiya border outpost and engage with the officers and soldiers. Following the monsoon floods last year that damaged some BSF posts and fencing, repairs have been completed. He will gather feedback from BSF personnel regarding the current situation. Upon returning from the International Border, he will lead a high-level meeting to discuss the security conditions in Jammu and Kashmir at Lok Bhawan, officials noted.
Attendance at the meeting will include Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, senior officials from the MHA, leaders of paramilitary forces from both New Delhi and J&K, intelligence agencies, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat, and other senior police and intelligence officers from Jammu and Kashmir. A thorough evaluation of the security situation will focus on the ongoing anti-terrorism operations in the mountainous areas of the Jammu region against foreign terrorists.
Just two days prior, joint security forces eliminated three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists, two in Basantgarh, Udhampur, and one in Chatroo, Kishtwar.
Additionally, the Home Minister will distribute compassionate appointment letters and meet with the families of martyrs at Lok Bhawan.
He will also assess the development of Jammu and Kashmir in a high-level meeting before returning to New Delhi on Saturday afternoon.
Attendees at the development review meeting will include L-G Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, senior MHA officials, and civil administration leaders from Jammu and Kashmir. Security measures have been heightened in the Jammu region ahead of the Home Minister's visit.
The Union Home Minister previously led a security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir on January 8 in New Delhi, where he emphasized a mission-driven approach to neutralizing terrorists and achieving zero infiltration at the border to restore peace.
The presence of Pakistani terrorists in the hilly regions of Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur, Kathua, Poonch, and Rajouri remains a significant concern for the MHA, prompting ongoing refinement of security strategies to tackle the issue, officials stated.
