Srinagar, Feb 5 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah is poised to commence a significant three-day tour of Jammu and Kashmir starting Thursday. This visit aims to perform an extensive security assessment, review development initiatives, and interact with political figures.
During his stay, he is anticipated to conduct high-level discussions with both security personnel and administrative leaders to analyze the current law and order landscape, alongside the advancement of ongoing governance and infrastructure projects.
“The Union Home Minister will arrive in Jammu on the evening of February 5 and will engage with political leaders at Lok Bhawan that evening. On the morning of February 6, he will head to the international border located in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district,” officials noted.
At the international border, the Union Home Minister is scheduled to evaluate the latest technology deployed by the Border Security Force (BSF) to curb infiltration.
“In the afternoon of February 6, he will preside over a crucial security review meeting in Jammu. Attendees will include J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, senior officials from the MHA, the Intelligence Bureau (IB), leaders of CAPFs, and top officers from Jammu and Kashmir’s civil administration, police, and intelligence bodies,” the officials disclosed.
On the morning of February 7, he will depart for Srinagar, where he plans to launch several developmental projects. In the afternoon, he will exit from Srinagar to return to Chhattisgarh, as per official sources.
This marks the second high-level security review of Jammu and Kashmir by Amit Shah in less than a month.
Previously, on January 8, he led a significant security assessment meeting regarding Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi. This review was succeeded by visits from Union Home Secretary Gobind Mohan, IB chief Tapan Deka, and other key agency leaders to Jammu on January 14 and 15.
