Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 25 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah will embark on a three-day tour of Bihar starting Wednesday, concentrating on border security, administrative readiness, and ongoing development efforts in the Seemanchal region, which is adjacent to Nepal and Bangladesh.
Bihar Minister Ashok Chaudhary commented on the visit, stating, “Amit Shah is coming to assess our border regions with Nepal and Bangladesh due to reports indicating an increase in activity from drug traffickers in Nepal. Our resources are intended for our local Muslims, not for those from other countries.”
During this trip, HM Shah plans to evaluate security measures in border districts and convene high-level meetings with officials concerning the challenges along the India-Nepal border.
He is expected to arrive in Purnia at approximately 4:00 P.M. before heading to Kishanganj, where he will lead a review meeting at the Collectorate.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar highlighted the developmental significance of the visit, asserting, “Amit Shah, as the Home Minister, is focusing on various aspects of development in the Seemanchal region, including the agriculture college named after A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Purnia airport, and the enhancement of Waqf properties.”
LJP MLA Raju Tiwari welcomed the visit, stating, “The Home Minister frequently visits the Seemanchal region, and these visits are always appreciated. His presence, along with the Prime Minister’s, signifies the government’s commitment to the people.”
