Amaravati, July 25 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, expressed pride on Friday regarding the state's role in enhancing the country’s defence ecosystem.
His remarks came in response to the successful flight trials of the UAV Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM)-V3 at the National Open Area Range (NOAR) in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu shared his sentiments on social media platform X after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted about the event.
“Andhra Pradesh is proud to contribute to the growth of our nation's defence ecosystem! Congratulations to our scientists and innovators on the successful flight trials of the UAV-Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM-V3) at the National Open Area Range (NOAR) in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh,” stated Naidu.
“This accomplishment marks a significant advancement in fortifying our nation's defence capabilities. The success of ULPGM-V3 embodies the true essence of Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” he added.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh confirmed that the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) had successfully conducted flight trials of ULPGM-V3 at the NOAR test range in Kurnool, providing a substantial boost to India’s defence capabilities.
“Kudos to DRDO and industry partners, including DcPPs, MSMEs, and Start-ups, for the development and successful trials of the ULPGM-V3 system. This achievement indicates that the Indian industry is now equipped to absorb and manufacture critical Defence Technologies,” the Defence Minister posted.
ULPGM-V3 is an advanced iteration of the ULPGM-V2 missile, which was developed and delivered by DRDO previously.
During a meeting with Rajnath Singh in May, Chandrababu Naidu outlined a strategic vision aimed at making Andhra Pradesh a national hub for defence manufacturing and aerospace innovation.
The proposals include the establishment of integrated defence facilities, revival of essential manufacturing units, support for indigenous aviation initiatives, creation of testing and training centres, and the formation of thematic defence hubs to encourage regional specialization.
Chandrababu Naidu emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s preparedness—with its solid infrastructure, skilled workforce, and proactive policy environment—to take a leadership role in promoting Aatmanirbhar Bharat through self-sufficient defence production and innovation.
