Jaipur, Oct 21 (NationPress) General Observer Subhashree Nanda, designated by the Election Commission of India for the Anta Assembly by-election 2025 in Rajasthan, carried out an extensive evaluation of polling stations and checkposts in the constituency on Tuesday.
The objective of the visit was to gauge the administration's readiness for facilitating a free, fair, and peaceful election.
During her inspection, Nanda examined the arrangements at different polling stations, concentrating on the provision of vital facilities such as electricity, drinking water, toilets, ramps, sheds, wheelchairs, and waiting areas.
Particular emphasis was placed on amenities for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and women voters, with explicit directions to guarantee a safe, accessible, and inclusive voting atmosphere on polling day, November 11.
She also assessed checkposts, scrutinizing the procedures associated with vehicle inspections, CCTV surveillance, videography, material seizure, and record-keeping.
Nanda instructed officials to ensure rigorous enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct and to remain alert against any unlawful activities.
Post the field visit, General Observer Nanda convened a review meeting at the Circuit House in Baran with District Election Officer and Collector Rohitashv Singh Tomar and Superintendent of Police Abhishek Andasu.
The meeting involved a thorough assessment of security arrangements at sensitive and hypersensitive polling stations, the deployment and activities of flying squads and Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs), the progress of voter awareness and outreach initiatives, and inter-departmental coordination for the seamless execution of the election.
Nanda highlighted the significance of collaboration among departments and urged officials to act proactively to ensure peaceful polling and maximize voter turnout.
“The election is the largest celebration of democracy and must be conducted with the utmost standards of integrity, transparency, and vigilance,” she remarked.
Also present were the Returning Officer and SDM Anta Hawai Singh Yadav, liaison officer and Assistant Director Juhi Agarwal, along with police and administrative officials from various departments.
