He commended the state government's ongoing commitment to cleanliness, environmental stewardship, and civic duty, noting that these initiatives reflect a strong sense of public discipline and community ownership among residents.
Lt. General Parnaik (Retd.) also acknowledged the professionalism, efficiency, and community-oriented approach of the Sikkim Police, stating that a responsive and compassionate policing system significantly enhances public trust, safety, and social harmony.
Recognizing the friendly and constructive relationship between the Chief Ministers of both states, the Governor expressed optimism that this goodwill would result in increased collaboration in areas such as sustainable tourism, environmental protection, cultural exchanges, capacity-building, and community engagement, benefiting both regions.
Drawing from his experience as the former Commander of the 17 Mountain Division in Sikkim, the Governor shared insights on the shifting security landscape in the area, particularly given that both states share sensitive international borders.
