Chandigarh, July 7 (NationPress) - The National President of BJP, Jagat Prakash Nadda, has officially designated Ashwani Kumar Sharma as the Working State President of the Punjab division of the Bharatiya Janata Party, effective immediately.
Sharma, representing Pathankot, is one of the two legislators from Punjab within the 117-member assembly.
In response to his new role, Union Minister Ravneet Bittu congratulated him on X, stating, “My heartfelt congratulations to Sh. @AshwaniSBJP Ji on his appointment as the new Working President of Punjab BJP. Your extensive experience and steadfast dedication to the party will surely enhance BJP's presence in Punjab. I wish you tremendous success in this new role under the inspiring leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji.”
BJP MP Satnam Singh also extended his congratulations, stating, “Congratulations to Shri @AshwaniSBJP ji on becoming the Working State President of Punjab BJP. Sharma has a background with the RSS and was an active member of the ABVP during his college years in Pathankot.
He served as the General Secretary of BJP Punjab from 2007 to 2010, followed by his role as Chairman of the District Planning Board in Gurdaspur, and was appointed the party’s state president in 2010.
Additionally, he held the presidency of B.J.Y.M. (Punjab) in 2004.
