Assam CM Commends Om Birla's Exemplary Leadership in Preserving Parliamentary Traditions

New Delhi, Dec 4 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has shown remarkable leadership alongside a dedication to preserving the traditions of the lower house of Parliament.
Sarma, who has been in the national capital for three days, visited Birla in his Lok Sabha chamber.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister stated, “As Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri @ombirlakota ji has consistently exhibited distinguished leadership and a commitment to maintaining parliamentary traditions. It was a pleasure to meet him in Sansad Bhawan today.”
Additionally, CM Sarma met with Union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Arjun Ram Meghwal, inviting them to the forthcoming investor summit in Assam.
In his posts on X, he mentioned, “Had a fruitful meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @HardeepSPuri ji. I invited him to participate in the #AdvantageAssam Summit 2025 and also sought his support to maximize the potential of Assam’s hydrocarbon sector. I am thankful for the warm welcome extended by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @arjunrammeghwal Ji at his residence in New Delhi today.”
Significantly, the “Advantage Assam 2.0”, an Investment and Infrastructure Summit, aims to showcase Assam’s rich cultural heritage on the global stage.
According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the event scheduled for February 24 and 25 will feature the traditional Jhumur dance of the tea tribe clans.
Sarma stated, “This summit serves as a platform to present Assam's vibrant traditions to an international audience while attracting investors.”
A magnificent Jhumur dance performance with over 7,500 dancers and artists will highlight the event. It promises to be an extraordinary display, featuring 32 female and 32 male dancers representing each of Assam's 800+ tea gardens, as noted by the Chief Minister.
He assured that meticulous preparation would be guaranteed through master training workshops, constituency-level sessions, district-level performances, and final rehearsals in Guwahati.
