Ayodhya, March 23 (NationPress) Santosh Kumar Tiwari, the chief priest of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday for his extensive public service, calling his tenure commendable and deserving of recognition.
In response to Modi becoming the longest-serving head of an elected government in India, Tiwari expressed appreciation for the leadership of the Prime Minister and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
"The Prime Minister's time in office has been truly commendable and remarkably praiseworthy. I extend my heartfelt thanks to him for steering the double-engine government alongside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath," Tiwari stated in an interview with IANS.
He noted that Prime Minister Modi has frequented Ayodhya to receive the blessings of Lord Ram.
"The Prime Minister has visited numerous times to seek the blessings of Ram Lalla. We see him as a king... he embodies the essence of Lord Ram. He is more than just the Prime Minister of India; he represents the nation's leadership -- there is no one comparable to him. He is blessed by Ram Lalla," Tiwari remarked.
The chief priest also indicated that entities like the University Grants Commission (UGC) should strive for enhancement.
"I believe the UGC could use some improvements," Tiwari mentioned.
He expressed hope that the envisioned concept of a 'Hindu Rashtra' (Hindu nation) would eventually materialize.
Recently, Prime Minister Modi marked a significant achievement in Indian political history by becoming the longest-serving head of an elected government in the nation.
He reached 8,931 days in office (counting his time as the former Chief Minister of Gujarat and his current role as Prime Minister), surpassing the previous record held by former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, who served for 8,930 days.
This record includes Modi's term as Chief Minister of Gujarat from October 7, 2001, to May 21, 2014, and his tenure as the Prime Minister since May 26, 2014, showcasing over two decades of uninterrupted leadership in public service.
