Jammu, May 7 (NationPress) The leader of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror organization, Azhar Masood, has confirmed the deaths of ten of his family members due to missile strikes conducted by the Indian armed forces during 'Operation Sindoor' early Wednesday morning.
In an Urdu statement shared with the press, Masood expressed, “Ten members of my family, which include five children, my elder sister and her husband, my Islamic scholar nephew, his wife, and my niece, as well as my old friend Hazifa, his mother, and two other associates, were killed.”
He accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of targeting innocent children, devoted Muslim women, and the elderly.
“I am overwhelmed with grief, yet I feel neither regret nor fear. I have been praying to Allah that I should have been among these 14 martyrs today,” he stated.
“The slaughter of children and innocent people has not weakened our determination. They (the Indians) should not anticipate any mercy from us now.
“The collapsed minaret of the Subhanullah mosque will ultimately crash down upon the Indian populace in a manner that their future generations will never forget,” he warned.
Furthermore, the JeM chief mentioned that funeral prayers for the 14 victims of the Indian strikes would occur at 4 PM.
At around 1:44 AM on Wednesday, the Indian armed forces precisely targeted terrorist facilities in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) without striking any military installations in Pakistan.
A statement from the Ministry of Defence indicated that nine locations were struck during 'Operation Sindoor', including Muridke, Bhawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad in PoK.
The Pakistan Army responded by engaging in heavy mortar shelling, violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) today.
Seven civilians lost their lives, and 38 others suffered injuries due to the Pakistani shelling in Poonch district.
The Pakistan Army utilized mortar shells in Uri, Karnah in the Valley, as well as Poonch and Rajouri in the Jammu division.
Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, reviewed the situation on the LoC and instructed the district administration to relocate residents from vulnerable areas to safer locations.
