Bangladeshi Citizens Will Respond to Yunus if Indian Supplies Are Halted: Suvendu Adhikari

Kolkata, Dec 5 (NationPress) West Bengal Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari declared on Thursday that the citizens would impart a lesson to Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus of the interim Bangladesh government if the supply of vital goods from India to the neighboring nation is suspended for merely seven days.
“Recently, we halted the transit of goods vehicles at the Benapole-Petrapole Border in the North 24 Parganas district for just one day. If we stop the supplies for seven days, the citizens of Bangladesh will certainly teach Yunus a lesson,” Adhikari remarked during a demonstration against the violence and persecution of minority Hindus in Bangladesh and the detention of ISKCON monks by Bangladeshi law enforcement.
He further elaborated on Bangladesh's reliance on India for its economic operations.
“The economy of Bangladesh is entirely reliant on India. We provide everything from food products to cotton; Bangladesh depends on India for the supply of 97 essential items,” Adhikari stated.
He also noted that during the Lok Sabha elections this year, the majority of Hindus in his home district of East Midnapore united in support of the BJP candidates.
“Now is the time for Hindus elsewhere to come together,” he emphasized.
BJP candidates were victorious in both Lok Sabha constituencies in East Midnapore, namely Tamluk and Kanthi. The former judge of the Calcutta High Court won from Tamluk, while Soumendu Adhikari, the younger brother of Suvendu Adhikari, secured victory from Kanthi.
