Bengaluru Prepares for New Year Festivities with Extensive Security Measures

Bengaluru, Dec 31 (NationPress) The bustling city of Bengaluru is making extensive preparations for the New Year festivities as it eagerly awaits the arrival of 2025.
Comprehensive arrangements have been made throughout the city for the celebrations. The renowned M.G. Road and Brigade Road have been adorned with stunning decorations, ready to host the festivities.
Annually, more than 100,000 individuals gather in these areas between 11 p.m. and midnight to usher in the new year. The government and police department have implemented stringent security measures to guarantee safety during the occasion.
Over 2,000 police personnel, comprising both men and women, will be assigned to oversee security across M.G. Road, Brigade Road, and Church Street.
Special lighting decorations are already in place on Brigade Road, Church Street, Indiranagar, HSR Layout, and Koramangala. Numerous pubs, restaurants, clubs, recreational centers, and shopping malls throughout the city are also making special arrangements to welcome the partygoers.
The police department is contemplating the deployment of over 1,000 additional personnel in the upscale Koramangala area, which is home to many tech professionals.
A mini control room has been set up to oversee CCTV surveillance, with 150 extra cameras installed at critical locations.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand has declared that all flyovers in the city will be closed as a precautionary measure.
Metro services will be operational until 2 a.m. to facilitate safe returns home, and buses will also operate from M.G. Road post-midnight until 2 a.m.
Metro authorities are closely monitoring commuter activity and will impose fines on individuals engaging in indecent behavior. The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has stated that a fine of Rs 500 will be levied on those who harass women, with offenders handed over to the police.
Security personnel will be stationed in every metro coach to safeguard passengers.
The police department has put in additional efforts to ensure women's safety during the celebrations. The Rani Chennamma Special Squad will be actively monitoring to maintain vigilance and protect women's rights.
Furthermore, 12 safety islands have been established for women, along with the installation of watchtowers, and healthcare facilities will be accessible to the public throughout the celebrations.
