Gurugram: Security Measures Intensified with 2,000 Police Personnel for New Year’s Eve

Gurugram, Dec 29 (NationPress) In an effort to guarantee public safety during the New Year’s Eve festivities, the Gurugram Police released an advisory on Sunday aimed at maintaining law and order in the city as the New Year celebrations approach.

As outlined in the advisory, a total of 2,000 police personnel, in addition to extra police forces, have been assigned under the oversight of the respective Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

The police forces will be equipped with essential security tools throughout the city.

According to the directives of Vikas Arora IPS, the Commissioner of Gurugram Police, comprehensive security arrangements have been established at various designated locations, including all venues prepared to usher in the New Year 2025.

To ensure safety across the district, a sufficient number of police forces have been deployed at various identified locations, including all celebration venues; additionally, plainclothes officers have been assigned to monitor all types of activities.

During the celebrations, traffic police personnel have been tasked with ensuring smooth and organized traffic flow.

Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Assistant Police Commissioners (ACPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), all Crime Branch In-Charges, and all Traffic Police In-Charges have also been assigned to oversee operations.

The police report indicates that New Year events will take place at 22 locations in Gurugram to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.

“The Gurugram Police have implemented all necessary security measures at each of these venues, and 10 parking areas have been established for vehicle parking. Interstate and inner Gurugram checkpoints have been set up by the Gurugram Police to monitor for suspicious individuals, criminals, and unwelcome persons,” stated Vikas Arora, Commissioner of Gurugram Police.

Ten interstate checkpoints have been established by the police.

“Moreover, a total of 68 special checkpoints have been implemented, including 32 checkpoints in the East Zone of Gurugram, 21 checkpoints in the West Zone, 8 checkpoints in the South Zone, and 7 checkpoints in the Manesar Zone. An adequate number of police personnel have been deployed,” he added.

Approximately 1,044 police personnel will be stationed at the 22 primary locations for New Year celebrations, along with 10 parking spots and police checkpoints.

In addition, traffic police, police station teams for their respective areas, counter-assault teams, disposal teams, ambulances, and special fire brigade teams will also be deployed.
