Bengaluru, Feb 14 (NationPress) A huge crowd converged on the ‘Aero India 2025’ event on Friday, marking the conclusion of the 15th edition of India's esteemed aerospace exhibition. This surge in attendance led to significant traffic congestion around the Yelahanka Air Force Station, causing vehicles to crawl at an incredibly slow pace.

During the busy morning hours, vehicles were immobilized on the elevated flyover towards Bengaluru International Airport Road for approximately two kilometres.

The five-day event attracted participants from across the globe. On its final day, the exhibition remained open to the public until 6 p.m., with a flying display scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon and again from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, upon inaugurating the event, likened it to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, referring to ‘Aero India 2025’ as a grand showcase of India's capabilities.

This year’s Aero Show was hosted across 42,438 square metres, featuring participation from 30 Defence Ministers and 43 military chiefs from various nations, with a total representation from 90 countries.

The exhibition showcased 70 fighter jets, cargo, and trainer aircraft, along with 30 helicopters, all performing stunning aerial displays.

The highlights of the exhibition included Russian and American fighter jets.

Moreover, over 900 manufacturers from different nations participated, displaying advancements in AI, drones, cybersecurity, global aerospace, and emerging technologies.

'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India) products were prominently featured in this edition of the show.

The event also attracted 100 CEOs from various companies and 50 foreign OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), discussing investment, research, joint ventures, and the defence sector.

Seminars covering 10 different topics and over 70 flying displays were part of the airshow. The event drew a crowd exceeding 700,000 spectators. An official statement regarding attendance is forthcoming.

The presence of the Russian Su-57 and US F-35, both fifth-generation stealth fighters, were among the major attractions. This marked the first occasion the two aircraft shared the same venue.

For the 15th consecutive year, the US participated in Aero India, showcasing a range of advanced aircraft, which underscores the strengthening defence and aerospace partnership between the US and India, focusing on promoting regional security, stability, and economic prosperity through diversified trade and strategic investment.

At Aero India 2025, more than two dozen American exhibitors interacted with their Indian counterparts, exploring new business opportunities and showcasing innovative solutions in aviation and defence.

The inaugural Aero India show took place at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru, in 1996, organized by the Defence Exhibition Organisation, Department of Defence Production, and the Ministry of Defence.
