Bihar Chief Minister Launches Development Initiatives Worth ₹201 Crore in East Champaran

Patna, December 25 (NationPress) On the second day of the Pragati Yatra, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a visit to the Kesaria block in East Champaran district on Tuesday, during which he inaugurated and laid the groundwork for 104 development projects amounting to ₹201 crore.
The local residents warmly welcomed the visit, expressing their approval and backing for the Chief Minister's development efforts.
While in Kesaria, CM Nitish Kumar highlighted the achievements of the Jeevika programme, which has significantly empowered rural women through self-help groups.
He mentioned that the Jeevika initiative has gained considerable traction and national recognition, with both the central government and other states embracing it.
CM Kumar emphasized the financial independence it has fostered among individuals, noting that although the program commenced in rural settings, its reach is now extending to urban areas as well.
Following his visit to Sundarpur and Sugaon villages in the Kesaria block, CM Kumar inaugurated a rail overbridge at the Kachhari railway gate in Motihari, constructed at a cost of ₹29.95 crore by Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited.
This bridge is anticipated to ease traffic congestion and enhance connectivity in the region.
After the inauguration, Renu Devi, the Minister of the Animal and Fisheries Department, launched a fierce critique of the opposition, denouncing their failure to acknowledge Bihar's advancements.
Without directly naming any political party, she likened the opposition to a nocturnal creature unable to see in daylight, suggesting that if they could "see like a day animal," they would appreciate the development unfolding within the state.
She highlighted that 173 roads are being constructed in her constituency alone, signifying the progress occurring throughout Bihar.
She contrasted the current state of roads with the past, stating that previously, roads were riddled with potholes, whereas now, they are well-paved, creating a vast network of two-lane, four-lane, and six-lane roads.
BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal also emphasized the transformation of Bettiah, crediting his efforts along with those of Minister Renu Devi for its ongoing development.
He noted that Bettiah's appearance and infrastructure are undergoing a positive transformation, with Nitish Kumar's visit further contributing to the city's progress.
