Bihar Police Razes Properties of Fleeing Offenders in East Champaran

Patna, Dec 17 (NationPress) In a bold action, the Bihar Police deployed a bulldozer to destroy the residences of more than 100 fleeing offenders in East Champaran on Tuesday.

An official revealed that police teams arrived at the residences of approximately absconding criminals with outstanding warrants and commenced demolition operations using JCB machinery.

The initiative, directed by SP Swarn Prabhat, forms part of a comprehensive district campaign aimed at the attachment and confiscation of properties owned by absconding offenders. Several individuals have surrendered in the state due to stringent police actions.

SP Swarn Prabhat oversaw the operation in various sections of Motihari city. In a notable case, he ordered the attachment of assets belonging to Vishwanath Vishwas, a notorious criminal in the area.

Discussing the operation, SP Swarn Prabhat stated that measures are being enforced against those who have not adhered to previous court orders and have failed to surrender despite receiving notifications.

“The attachment and confiscation actions serve as a strong warning to the accused while demonstrating the administration's dedication to law enforcement and accountability,” he noted.

SP Swarn Prabhat mentioned that all 50 police station heads, circle inspectors, and DSPs in the district are actively engaged in the attachment and confiscation initiative.

As part of this operation, around 10 to 12 offenders have surrendered, while properties belonging to those who did not comply with court notifications are being demolished,” he stated.

SP Swarn Prabhat has initiated several targeted campaigns to tackle various criminal and social challenges in the district, including Operation Helmet, an ongoing initiative aimed at controlling crime in rural areas, and Operation Number Plate, designed to target vehicles with counterfeit or illegal registration plates; this campaign has played a vital role in tracking criminal activities associated with unauthorized vehicles.

Additionally, Swarn Prabhat launched Operation Anusandhan, focused on locating and apprehending absconders and suspects involved in serious offenses, alongside a dedicated initiative against the illegal trade and consumption of alcohol and drugs, which has already yielded significant results, and a weekly drive aimed at systematically addressing specific crime-related issues, among others.
