New Delhi, Oct 29 (NationPress) Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi has sharply criticized the Mahagathbandhan for its recently unveiled manifesto, emphasizing that the citizens of Bihar have not forgotten the period of “jungle raj” and “terror rule.”
In an interview with IANS, Manjhi accused the grand alliance of attempting to erase the painful memories of their previous governance.
“As residents of Magadh, we have witnessed the days of jungle raj and terror rule, when development was non-existent and Bihar was suffering on all fronts,” Manjhi stated.
“The double-engine government of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has improved the situation. Now, in an effort to wipe away that stain, they are making exaggerated claims and grand announcements. We believe the people of Bihar are not so gullible as to forget the rule of their predecessors,” he added.
Manjhi praised the NDA government for restoring law and order, enhancing infrastructure, and guiding Bihar towards development after years of neglect.
He highlighted that the state’s advancements in road connectivity, education, and welfare schemes are evident across districts, particularly in rural areas where development once seemed unattainable.
In agreement, BJP leader and former Union Minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain described the Mahagathbandhan’s promises as “a mere collection of lies.”
He claimed that the populace of Bihar has already decided in favor of the NDA.
“The NDA wave has begun, and everyone will be swept away,” Hussain declared.
“The Mahagathbandhan, led by Tejashwi Yadav, is making false job promises while their true aim is personal enrichment. We have witnessed how schemes like ‘Land for Jobs’ left people feeling cheated. This time, the citizens of Bihar will not be misled,” he asserted.
As the Bihar Assembly election campaign heats up, NDA leaders are emphasizing the contrast between the alleged “lawlessness” of the past and their “record of stability and progress,” making governance legacy a crucial issue in the election.
The Bihar polls are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
